3x Hackathon Wins: Building a Chain-Agnostic RWA Protocol

How TheOpenAssets won three hackathons by building a compliant, chain-agnostic real-world asset tokenization protocol using ERC-3643 and ERC-7518.

What is Real World Asset Tokenization?

Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization brings real financial assets on-chain with programmable rules, transparent settlement, and auditable compliance.

For institutions, this means faster issuance, better reporting, and policy enforcement directly at the token layer.

Project Identity: Credora → TheOpenAssets

This project was first submitted under the name Credora in the OneChain track, and later continued and expanded as TheOpenAssets for additional hackathons.

The Architecture: ERC-3643 (T-REX) On-Chain

We implemented ERC-3643 (the T-REX standard) fully on-chain for compliant RWA issuance:

  • Identity-bound transfer controls
  • Modular compliance enforcement
  • Upgrade-safe contract systems

Going Cross-Chain

We built a chain-agnostic RWA execution layer across:

  • Mantle — modular compliance + issuance workflow adapted to Mantle ecosystem requirements.
  • OneChain — initial Credora submission proving compliant on-chain RWA primitives.
  • Creditcoin — execution and settlement abstractions integrated into the same protocol surface.
  • Stellar — cross-ecosystem extension for settlement-oriented flows.

The Backend Automation

We also built cron-driven backend automation for:

  • liquidation monitoring
  • deterministic time-weighted yield distribution
  • lifecycle-triggered operational checks aligned with on-chain state changes

3 Wins — The Hackathon Stories

Win 1 — OneChain (as Credora)

This was the first public submission of the protocol direction before the rebrand to TheOpenAssets.

Win 2 — VietBUIDL (as TheOpenAssets)

Win 3 — Mantle Global Hackathon 2025 (as TheOpenAssets)
